The Recipient: 85 Cabby, aka “Buffy”, with 3-speed auto, 100mm axle set and power steering.
The Donor: 83 GTI, aka Moljinar, 5-speed manual FK transmission with 90mm axle set and manual steering.
The list of stuff:
1. Manual transmission, 020 type; 100mm axles or 90mm axle set (both work; we’ll discuss this later).
2. All clutch stuff: Clutch disc, pressure plate, flywheel, flywheel bolts, crankshaft bolts.
3. Shift linkages: All links and rods, the shifter lever, the ball socket it goes in, the rod it attaches to that runs the length
of the exhaust tunnel, the bracket that holds the nylon bushing the rod runs through, and shift knob. It is best to remove
all pieces from a donor vehicle so you can get it all and not miss anything. Then you can replace the few parts that may
be too worn.
4. Clutch cable.
5. Speedo cable.
6. Starter for manual transmission car (the automatic starter is completely different, it even spins in the wrong direction!).
7. Clutch pedal.
8. Pedal bracket for a manual car. There are issues here with ones from older donor cars. You can buy the exact bracket
you need from the dealer and I suggest you do.
9. You will need a new/different steering rack. The rack in an auto-equipped VW doesn’t have the bracket to bolt the shift
linkages to. Get a rack from a manual-equipped donor vehicle, preferably an identical model car. Early Rabbit models use
a different U-joint where they attach to the steering column. You can also change from power steering to manual steering
at this point if so desired.
10. Back-up switch plug with wire pigtail for rewiring back-up lights.

What makes a Volkswagen a Volkswagen. See those little icons
over there? They represent the big ideas that every Volkswagen
must live up to in order to earn the VW badge. No matter how
large or small, all models are a combination of these essential
ideas. Find an icon and you’ll discover something special about
a Volkswagen. It’s really that simple.
Design. Did you know that the Eos is the world’s first hardtop convertible to
have a power sunroof? That’s right, you’re looking at a trendsetter. And it’s a
tilting, sliding, tinted, panoramic sunroof. That also moonlights as a moonroof.
How much sky would
you like today?
We could tell you about the sleek body lines, or the available genuine burled walnut
wood interior trim. Or even about the coupe styling with an aerodynamic windshield
for maximum visibility and minimum wind resistance. But this is the Eos. And even
though all of those things are very true, it’s all about the convertible. The automatic
folding hardtop complete with sunroof and heated rear glass window. The one that
disappears into the trunk in just 25 seconds. That magical tractor beam of design
and engineering that makes you turn your head every time you see one drive by.
Just think, if you were driving an Eos, you’d have 360 degrees of visibility to spot all
the other Eos drivers. And then quietly nod and smile.

Download VOLKSWAGEN POLO SE manual 3-door hatch
Though the new Polo’s starting price looks
attractive, the base 3-door model doesn’t come
with many frills and you need to spend over
$20,000 (plus on-road costs) to get a
comprehensively equipped vehicle. Viewed in
that regard, the Polo could be considered to be
a fairly expensive light car.
However, there are many things about the
Polo that are equal to, or better than cars
costing quite a deal more. These include its
excellent build quality, its top safety and
security ratings, and its fine chassis dynamics.
In short, the Polo will suit buyers who are
looking for a modern, good looking small
European hatchback and who appreciate the
finer points of driving dynamics and the extra
attention to detail design that comes with a
high quality product.

Safety Precautions
Introduction
This workshop manual contains technical data,
descriptions and repair instructions for Volvo Penta
products or product versions contained in the contents
list. Ensure that the correct workshop literature is being
used.
Read the safety information and the Workshop
Manual “General Information” and “Repair
Instructions” carefully before starting work.
Important
In this book and on the engine you will find the
following special warning symbols.
WARNING! If these instructions are not
followed there is a danger of personal injury,
extensive damage to the product or serious
mechanical malfunction.
IMPORTANT! Used to draw your attention to
something that can cause damage, product
malfunction or damage to property.
NOTE! Used to draw your attention to important
information that will facilitate work or operations.
Below is a summary of the risks and safety precautions
you should always observe or carry out when operating
or servicing the engine.
Immobilize the engine by turning off the power
supply to the engine at the main switch(es) and
lock it (them) in the OFF position before
starting work. Set up a warning notice at the
engine control point or helm.
Generally, all servicing should be carried out
with the engine switched off. Some work
(carrying out certain adjustments for example)
requires the engine to be running. Approaching
a running engine is dangerous. Loose clothing
or long hair can fasten in rotating parts and
cause serious personal injury.
If working in proximity to a running engine,
careless movements or a dropped tool can
result in personal injury. Avoid burns. Take
precautions to avoid hot surfaces (exhausts,
turbochargers, charge air pipes and starter
elements, etc.) and liquids in supply lines and
hoses when the engine is running or has been
turned off immediately prior to starting work on
it. Reinstall all protective parts removed during
service operations before starting the engine.

1 Introduction
DiCE – Diagnostic Communication Equipment, is a tool that is used together with VIDA All-in-one to
communicate with the vehicle. Communication makes diagnosing and troubleshooting the vehicle
possible, as well as the downloading of software.
DiCE uses Bluetooth to transfer information wirelessly between the vehicle and VIDA All-in-one. This
gives the mechanics more flexibility. An USB cable can be used as an alternative to Bluetooth.
1.1
Support
For support, use TIE template, DiCE under VIDA/Communication Tools in Service Product Report
or contact your local VCC Helpdesk.
1.2
Components
DiCE has an integrated CARB cable, which is connected to the vehicle's diagnostic socket.
When connecting to the vehicle, DiCE is powered as long as the battery is charged.
DiCE has a folding hook that is designed for hanging the unit from one of the grab handles in the
vehicle for example. When DiCE hangs visibly, Bluetooth reception is optimized and it is also
visible to the mechanic.
DiCE is equipped with four status LEDs (Light Emission Diode) that indicate the status of the
software, the USB and Bluetooth communication and the interface to the car.
At one end of the unit, there is a DC input where a battery cable or adapter (12 V) can be
connected. The adapter is used when upgrading and troubleshooting the DiCE.

Important
Our Magna Charger kits are designed for stock engines, with stock components, in good mechanical condition
only. Installation on worn or damaged engines is not recommended and may result in engine failure, for which
we naturally can’t be responsible. Magna Charger is not responsible for the engine or consequential damages.
Aftermarket engine re-calibration devices that modify fuel and spark curve (i.e.. programmers) are not recom-
mended and may cause engine damage or failure. If you have any questions, call us!
Caution: Relieve the fuel system pressure before servicing fuel system components in order to
reduce the risk of fire and personal injury. After relieving the system pressure, a small amount of fuel may be
released when servicing the fuel lines or connections. In order to reduce the risk of personal injury, cover the
regulator and fuel line fittings with a shop towel before disconnecting. This will catch any fuel that may leak
out. Place the towel in an approved container when the job is complete, and of course, no smoking.
Magna Charger strongly recommends the following:
Clean your engine compartment before starting any engine disassembly.
You must have a clean fuel filter - check and replace as needed before installation.
You must have a clean air filter - replace every 10,000 miles.
OE type / Stock spark plugs and stock plug gap is recommended.
Start with and use ONLY 91 octane fuel or higher in the tank.

September 2004 the range underwent a facelift, offering a range of high-output, low-emission engines. The
engines fitted are well-proven and have appeared in many Citroën/Peugeot vehicles over the years, with the
exception of the 1.6 litre diesel engine, newly developed in a joint-venture with the Ford Motor Co.
With over 57,000 UK sales, the C5 is a good-looking, well-equipped vehicle offering a wide range of
standard and optional equipment to suit most tastes and budgets. Provided that regular servicing is carried
out in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, the C5 should prove reliable and economical.
The engine compartment is well-designed, and most of the items requiring frequent attention are easily
accessible.

Free Hiding a Ford Regulator in a Citroen D
First drawing from John Titus article showing the original circuitry used on alternator equipped
D’s. SM’s should be similar. Besides controlling the charge indicator, the starter switch ground is
attached to the L terminal of the regulator. When the engine is running, the points open, turning
off the charge light and disabling the starter.
This same relay also disables the starter after the engine is running on some cars. The starter inhibitor feature
must be bypassed in order to use the Ford regulator unless an extra relay is installed. To restore this function,
Citroen owner and electronics expert Don Bennett has successfully added a relay and a resistor. I decided to go
this one better and use the existing relay, which is already voltage matched to the system. This would not only
make it unnecessary to modify the starter wiring, but it would also retain the original charge light function. I
also didn’t want to see an ugly, squat, silver Ford regulator where the tall black original once was. With a little
measuring, I decided that it might be possible to hide the Ford voltage regulator inside the existing regulator and
retain all of the original functions, with no further modifications.
